Accidents in public places
Many accidents occur when slipping or falling down in public places, e.g. stores, supermarkets, while walking on uneven pavement, climbing restaurant stairs and etc.
If you have been injured in a slip or fall accident due to someone’s negligence, we may be able to assist you in claiming for compensation.
- Slipping on a wet floor in a store or supermarket;
- Falling while climbing unsafe stairs, e.g. without handrails;
- Tripping due to raised or uneven paving slabs;
- Tripping in a pothole on the road; and etc.
Generally, certain people are responsible for protecting the ones visiting their sites. Usually the owners of property/premises, tenants or local government are responsible for that.
The owners of property/premises or local government must ensure the safety of the environment and take all necessary measures to protect the visitors from risks.
If you had an accident in a public place, you should gather as much information and evidence related to the accident as possible. If there is a possibility, take a picture of the accident scene, the cause of an accident, the names of responsible people, the details of witnesses, injuries sustained and etc.
If you think you are entitled to make a claim for compensation, please call us on 0800 098 8128 or fill in a short enquiry form. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
